Water Quality

Rhithroecology staff were closely involved in the redesign of the chemical water quality monitoring program of the Mekong River Commission, as well as the 2003 toxicant survey.  Ian Campbell has developed , and advised on the development of  water quality monitoring programs conducted by a number of companies and authorities to assess the impact of discharges from quarries, mines, wastewater treatment plants and road runoff.

Having conducted research on the impacts of water quality on river health, and laboratory studies of the effects of chemical speciation on toxicity of metals to freshwater invertebrates, Ian brings a solid understanding to program design and data interpretation.
