Ian had 25 years teaching experience at Monash University, teaching a wide range of classes and supervising masters and doctoral students. Ian also has extensive experience running training workshops. He ran the science component if the Thai Australia Science and Engineering Assistance Project involving dozens of training workshops for Thai academics which he either ran personally or facilitated. He also ran workshops for the Mekong River Commission, and staff in the Environment Department at Ok Tedi Mining.
